Kalea Zacatecici is a species of the genus Calea in the family Asteraceae, growing wild from southern Mexico to northern Costa Rica. A strongly branched shrub up to 1-1.5 m tall with edges serrated, triangular-oval leaves, 2-6.5 cm long. The inflorescence consists of a multitude of closely spaced small white or yellow flowers.

The main component of Caleya leaves is germacranolides and other compounds which provide a mild psychedelic effect after ingestion.

The Chontal and Chiapas Indians called Calea Zacatecici “God Leaves” and used its leaves to enter conscious dreams (OD) and in shamanic practices for predicting the future.
